Privacy policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal data NewAge Clinic collects through this website, why we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have under the Data Protection Act, 2024 (Act No. 18 of 2024) of Botswana.
Who we are
NewAge Clinic, Plot 21064, Buchbuck Rd, Village, Gaborone, Botswana, is the data controller responsible for the personal data collected through this website.
For any privacy question or request, contact us at appointment@newageclinic.co.bw or +267 77 121 064.
What data we collect
When you send an appointment request through our form, we collect:
- your name, phone number and, if you provide it, your email address;
- the treatment you are interested in and your preferred date;
- anything you write in the message field — this may include information about your health.
Health information
Information about your health is sensitive personal data. We only process it with your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the consent box in the form, and only to arrange and prepare your visit. Please share only what is needed for that.
Data collected automatically
When you visit the website, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so that the site can be delivered and protected against abuse. These logs are kept only for a short time.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts and images are served from our own website. Links to Facebook, WhatsApp or Google Maps only send data to those services if you click them. The map on our contact section is loaded from Google Maps only after you click “Show map”; Google then receives your IP address and browser data under its own privacy policy.
Why we use your data
- to respond to your request and arrange your appointment — based on your consent and the steps you ask us to take before treatment;
- to contact you by phone or email about your appointment;
- to keep the website secure and working — based on our legitimate interest;
- to meet our legal obligations, for example regarding health records.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for marketing without your separate consent.
Who we share it with
Your request is seen only by authorised NewAge Clinic staff. We use service providers who process data on our behalf and under our instructions — our website hosting provider (Cloudflare) and the email service that delivers form requests to our team. We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.
Transfers outside Botswana
Our service providers may process data on servers outside Botswana. We only use providers that apply appropriate safeguards for personal data, as required by the Data Protection Act, 2024.
How long we keep it
Appointment requests that do not lead to a visit are deleted within 12 months. If you become our patient, the information becomes part of your patient record, which we keep for as long as the law requires for health records.
How we protect it
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to requests is limited to authorised staff, and we take appropriate technical and organisational measures against loss, misuse or unauthorised access. If a data breach is likely to affect you, we will inform you and the Information and Data Protection Commission as required by law.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2024 you have the right to:
- be informed about how your personal data is used;
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted, where we no longer need it;
- object to or ask us to restrict certain processing;
- receive your data in a commonly used format (data portability);
- not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing — we do not make any;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before.
How to exercise your rights or complain
Contact us at appointment@newageclinic.co.bw. We may ask you to confirm your identity and will respond within the time limits set by law.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can lodge a complaint with the Information and Data Protection Commission (IDPC), the data protection authority of Botswana.
Children
If an appointment is for a child under 18, the request should be sent by a parent or legal guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with the date of the last update.
