Laser dentistry
A dental laser treats gums and soft tissue with great precision — often with less bleeding, less discomfort and faster healing than traditional methods.
What it is
The laser uses a focused beam of light to remove or reshape soft tissue and to disinfect. It seals small blood vessels as it works, so the area heals cleanly.
We use it for gum treatment, reshaping the gum line, treating ulcers and cold sores, and as a support in other treatments.
How it works
Assessment
We examine the area and explain whether laser treatment is the right choice.
Preparation
Protective glasses for everyone; a little local anaesthetic only if needed.
Laser treatment
Precise, quiet and quick — often without stitches.
Healing
Simple aftercare instructions; most patients return to normal activities the same day.
Questions patients ask
Is laser treatment safe?
Yes. Dental lasers are well established; we use them with protective eyewear and settings suited to each procedure.
Does it replace the drill?
Our laser is used mainly for gums and soft tissue. Some treatments still need conventional instruments — we will explain which.
Will it hurt?
Most patients feel little discomfort, and the sealed tissue heals with less pain than after conventional surgery.
